There are lots of awareness raising events across the week through the “Trapped” campaign and including sessions in secondary schools and FE colleges across GM to educate children and young people about the ways in which grooming and exploitation can take place.
Programme Challenger has developed the “Trapped” campaign (see www.zappar.com for more information) and a short film (www.youtube.com/). A web page containing more information about Trapped can be found at www.itsnotokay.co.uk/trapped
A key objective of the campaign is to encourage people to report their concerns to the police or to Crimestoppers, which they can do through the usual channels (999 in an emergency, 101 for non-emergencies or 0800 555111 anonymously).
In a non-emergency situation information can be sent directly to the Challenger team at [email protected]
