Advice for unregulated clubs, tutors and teaching centres that work with children & young people
Allegations management statistics compiled by the Rochdale Designated Local Authority Officer (LADO) have shown an increase in the number of allegations made against staff within unregulated groups and have highlighted gaps in training and safeguarding awareness. It has also been apparent that some individuals who had been working with children had not undergone any DBS checks.
A multi agency task & finish group has been established to identify groups, clubs, individuals and organisations within the locality that undertake work with children and families. The purpose of the work is to ensure that unregulated settings understand their role and responsibility in Safeguarding and promoting the health and welfare of children and young people in the Rochdale borough.
